Introduction to Naturopathy:
Naturopathy is drugless system of treatment based
on fundamental laws of biochemistry.
According to naturopathy the root cause of disease is congestion
of waste toxic material and wrong eating habits or disturbance in
metabolism. These disturbance results in breakdown of
homeostasis,
this leads to disease. Hence, main aim of treatment in naturopathy
is correction of metabolic process and excretion of waste toxic
material. Thus tries to maintain homeostasis.
Acute diseases are distortion within caused by antigen antibody
interaction. In chronic diseases homeostatic condition of internal
environment is disturbed due to inability of immune system and also
excretory system to expel the toxic substance.
Naturopathy supports the body to regularize anabolism, catabolism,
and excretion of waste toxic material by various methods like cold
therapy, hot therapy, enema, and change in diet. This helps in thermogenesis
and excretion of liquid waste material.
Some diseases are immune based. Naturopathy strengthens the immune
system by change in diet and symptoms are relieved by various methods
of naturopathy treatment.
Some disease are psychosomatic occurs due to anger, greed, jealous,
hate etc. change in diet, change in thoughts, life style and yoga
helps in recovery.
Cold therapy,
hot therapy
and enema are applied by source like mud therapy (mitti) and water
(hydrotherapy / pani).
Physiology of body has direct relation with change in temperature
and pressure of surroundings.
Change in temperature is applied by Cold therapy and hot therapy
over particular part of body or whole body. This causes change in
potential energy.
Change in pressure is applied externally by manual, mechanical methods,
electrical methods over particular part of body or whole body, produce
the effect of hot therapy.
Cleansing large intestine with water does detoxification.
Solid waste material is expelled by large intestine. In naturopathy
it is supported by enema.
Gaseous waste is exhaled through lungs. Cold therapy, hot therapy,
yoga, and exercise are advised to support the respiration
To support the digestive system and maintenance of composition of
internal environment diet regime
is regularized.
How do one realize his/her homeostasis condition
is normal?
It is very simple to know your body rhythm by your hunger sleep
and bowel habits. If these three are maintaining their normal status,
your body mechanism is in rhythm. Any disturbance indicates that
body is struggling to maintain the rhythm.
What we do in naturopathy?
We help the body to regularize the homeostasis. We didn't treat
instead help in body's own healing power to work continuously.
Who heal the fractured bone? How does hair nail grow?
It is the same system of healing power.
Naturopathy is not only a system of treatment but art of living,
too
Nature nurtures
Mankind is in consistence with universe. It is believed that Universe
begin 15 to 20 billions years ago in an explosion which created
all the atoms of Universe.
The gases condensed to form the Stars and Planets. Sun is formed
by nuclear fusion.
Initially Earth was like molten lava, as it began to cool, the crust
formed and volcanic activity oozes out material and water vapour
in to the air. Cooling of land and condensation of water vapour
leads to rain for millions of years and surface of earth was covered
by water- the primordial sea. Thus condition becomes favorable for
beginning of life.
First life arose in primordial sea. It was the simplest creatures,
one-celled organisms. These organisms extract energy from organic
compound or from sunlight and used to make more complex biomolecules
from simplest elements and compounds on earth surface. Example is
human body, which contains at least 1014 cells.
Effect of environment on human
physiology: -
Rotation of earth on its own axis and its revolution around sun
causes diurnal effect, (day and night) and seasonal changes on living
habitat of earth. Living organisms perceived the changes by change
in temperature, pressure, and various forces.
Every living organism has its own specific temperature, pressure,
and force. These factors are arranged in particular rhythm. This
rhythm is a state of health.
The maintenance of this rhythm is called homeostatic condition.
Any disturbance in maintenance of homeostatic condition causes disease.
Homeostasis is essential in maintenance of health and its breakdown
results in disease.
Hunger, sleep, and copulation are basic needs of all living for
survival including humankind. These basic needs are governed by
change in temperature and pressure of surrounding, nature.
Why naturopathy?
In primitive age man was near to nature. His activities were strictly
confined to the rules of nature. His needs, desire facilitates civilization.
In endeavor of civilization he drifted away from nature.
Apart from physical needs he nourishes greed, anger, jealous, hate,
etc. which leads to physical and mental distress and diseases. Some
diseases are immune based and some are due to unhealthy lifestyle.
Acute diseases are distortion within caused by antigen antibody
interaction. In chronic diseases homeostatic condition of internal
environment is disturbed due to inability of immune system and also
excretory system to expel the toxic substance. Some disease are
psychosomatic occurs due to anger, greed, jealous, hate etc. If
this is the cause of disease then the role of various type of medicine
in practice is such that they are effective in alleviating symptoms
only; the root cause of disease is being neglected. Hence in many
diseases one has to take drug for whole life.
Despite of advancement in diagnostic field and treatment
methods, incidents of diseases increase.
These incidents put a question mark over the effectiveness
of treatment methods. To put an end on speculation about the effectiveness
of various pathy onuses should be kept on unhealthy lifestyle, mental
stress, and unbalanced- under or over nutritious diet. This leads
to decrease in immunity and metabolic process.
If we evaluate the relation of nature with living organism then
we will find that our body rhythm is normally maintained by the
property of nature, which is the change in temperature, change in
pressure and change in various forces.
We in naturopathy utilize this property of nature for treatment
purpose.
